He was an Associate Director of Electronic Facilities Design Ltd and a Director of Man-Computer Consultants, as well as an independent consultant. Paul has worked as a consultant and researcher on human and organisational factors in complex systems for over 30 years.

He has been the principal investigator on a large number of research projects and has pioneered new techniques for the analysis of a wide range of organisational data.
